McGonigle Extension Talks Heat Up as Tigers Look to Lock Down Rookie Star
The Detroit Tigers have had talks with their young rookie about potentially getting ahead of what could be a very expensive contract down the line, working on a deal to keep their young rookie in the fold for many years to come. McGonigle, who has slashed .364/.440/.545 through his first six MLB games, will see his price only go up if the team decides to wait and try to lock him up after his rookie year. Currently scheduled to hit free agency in 2031, Scott Harris wants to make that later.
