Flaherty Shows Promise in Rehab Start, Targets Return by Sunday
Jack Flaherty tossed 5 2/3 innings of two-run ball with seven strikeouts on Tuesday night in a rehab start for Double-A Erie. If everything goes well in his rehab start Tuesday, Flaherty would be on turn to potentially start on Sunday for the Tigers' series and homestand finale against the Astros at Comerica Park. Flaherty has been sidelined since June 13 with a left peroneal strain. The timing of the rehab assignment positions the right-hander to return just as he becomes eligible off the 15-day injured list.
