Max Clark Makes Major League Debut as Tigers Prepare for Deadline Push
Detroit is calling up top prospect outfielder Max Clark, a 21-year-old and former No. 3 overall draft pick, who has spent the entire 2026 season at the Triple-A level. In 90 games for Toledo, Clark has slashed .276/.368/.434 with 11 home runs, 20 doubles, and 21 stolen bases in 23 attempts while manning center field. With outfielder Matt Vierling seemingly headed to the injured list after suffering a lower body injury, and left-handed hitting center fielder James Outman struggling mightily at the plate, the Tigers have decided the time is right for Clark's major league debut. The 21-year-old caught fire in July at the Triple-A level, currently holding a 1.086 OPS for the month with five home runs.
