Verlander Set for Emotional Farewell Saturday at Comerica Park
After completing a bullpen session on Tuesday, the 43-year-old right-hander is set to take the hill for the Detroit Tigers on Saturday, September 26. This farewell game will only be Verlander's second start in 2026, as he signed a one-year, $13 million contract with the Tigers but landed on the 15-day injured list four days after his opening start with left hip inflammation and a left hamstring strain. The Tigers will hold a two-day celebration of Verlander's career when they host the Pittsburgh Pirates, including a Verlander bobblehead for Friday's game and a long-sleeved hooded jersey for Saturday's game.
