Keith's Heroics Set Tone; Torres Injury Clouds Victory
Colt Keith had three home runs and six RBI as the Detroit Tigers beat the Houston Astros 9-3 on Monday night. The 24-year-old Keith, who entered the day with one home run in 65 games this season, became the youngest Tigers player with a three-homer game since 20-year-old Al Kaline in 1955. However, the victory was tempered by injury concerns. In the top of the second inning of Monday's game against the Houston Astros, Gleyber Torres was replaced by Hao-Yu Lee after suffering an injury after swinging at the first pitch he saw. Torres grabbed at his oblique, raising concerns about a potential reaggravation after missing 28 games earlier in the season with an oblique injury.
