Perez got hurt Tuesday in a weight room incident when he was struck in the face by a plyometric band, and it's unclear what specific injury he is dealing with, but it will cost him at least the next week-plus of action. Trei Cruz will absorb Perez's spot on the Detroit roster. Cruz was added to the 40-man roster over the winter, but it will be his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.
