Around the Club
Roster — The Tigers optioned outfielders Trei Cruz and Wenceel Perez, and infielder Jace Jung to Triple-A Toledo ahead of Opening Day. Infielder Kevin McGonigle, the Tigers' top prospect and second-ranked prospect in baseball, has made the team.
Injuries — Pitcher Sawyer Gipson-Long was placed on the 15-day IL for a left oblique strain, shortstop Trey Sweeney on the 10-day IL for a right shoulder strain, and pitcher Bailey Horn on the 15-day IL for left elbow arthroscopy, all retroactive to March 22. Troy Melton (right elbow inflammation) is on the 60-day IL with a hoped return by the end of May.
Broadcast — The Tigers officially entered a new era of broadcast on Monday with the launch of Detroit SportsNet, a year-round TV and streaming home for the Tigers and Red Wings. Tigers games will stream through the MLB App on the web, mobile and connected TV platforms.
